Job overview

Governing Body Members

Are you ready to release your imaginations and celebrate the art of the possible? Two life changing opportunities have arisen. The UTS Cambridge Trust is in search of two highly skilled governors to join its trust.

The University of Cambridge Primary School is a unique place of learning. Designed as the first university training school for primary in the UK we work hard to be a research informed and research generating school.

After this unprecedented time of uncertainty, we seek people to help us grow to the next stage of our school, to become a research centre for educational possibilities and to guide the school to support children who have been disrupted by school closures over the past 18 months. We are seeking experienced members of the public to join our Board. We are particularly keen to recruit members to represent the diversity in our community. We are particularly looking for people with the following skills:

- Human Resource, Coaching, Talent and people management

- Business, financial acumen

- Communications

There are 4 full governing body meetings a year held in the school during the day (normally 10am-12pm) and successful applicants would also be on one other committee, either HR or Finance. These meet 5 times a year during the school day. We also invite board members to visit the school and see for themselves the teaching, learning and ethos and to ask questions of the executive team.

You will be joining a high functioning professional body of people, many of whom are leading experts in their own field.

This is a volunteer position with considerable responsibility for the lives of children. You will be committed to making a difference and uphold the values of empathy, respect, trust, courage and gratitude within a culture of high challenge and high support. We live by the standard to release our imaginations and celebrate the art of the possible.
