Job overview

Have you got what it takes to shape exceptional teaching and learning?

The WKCIC Group was formed on 1st August 2016 through the merger of Westminster Kingsway and City and Islington Colleges. Our aim, with the
help of our training arm, is to provide exceptional further education to meet the needs of London’s young people, adults and employers.

The merger has created the largest Further Education provider in London,
supporting the success of around 26,500 students and apprentices, 1,600 staff
and has a combined turnover of around £85 million. Each college has world class facilities housed in specialist centres across central London. The
combined education and training opportunities currently offered by the two
colleges span the capital from Finsbury Park to Holloway, Angel to King’s
Cross, and Soho to Victoria. All sites are within 30 minutes of one another by
public transport. Both colleges have outstanding financial health and have been
graded 2 as part of their most recent Ofsted inspection.

The Group is governed by the Board - a high-performing, dynamic group
focused on strategy whose aim is to ensure that both colleges, and the
training arm of the organisation, become London’s exceptional vocational
education provider through continuous improvement and innovation.

Membership is drawn from a broad range of partners and stakeholders, with
representation from leaders across business, higher education, local
government and the community, as well as students and staff.

We are seeking to strengthen the Board with the appointment of two
Governors. You will bring senior leadership experience gained at Board level,
preferably within the commercial sector, ideally with experience as a
governor, trustee or non-executive director.

Whatever your industry background, you will share our commitment to
sustaining high performance through innovation and financial strength. You
will be passionate about the role we play in changing lives, and committed to
bringing your strategic business skills to bear in a challenging but fulfilling role.

This is an opportunity for you to make a significant contribution to the
leadership of a Group consisting of two colleges with a national reputation for
excellence that are at the forefront of shaping national strategy within the
Further Education sector.

For an information pack please email clerk@candi.ac.uk and for a confidential
discussion about these roles, please contact the Director of Governance:
Graham Drummond on 020 7700 9349.

If you are interested in joining this high-performing governing body please
submit your CV and a covering letter to: clerk@candi.ac.uk

Closing Date: 4 November 2016
