The Trustees are seeking to appoint a Governor Support Officer who will support our academies within the Laidlaw Schools Trust by providing a high quality clerking and administrative support service. You will join our central team with effect from November 2019 in a key role supporting the Trust in the strategic management and development of our Academies.
The role is part of a central services team, which currently supports six academies. This role presents an ideal opportunity for a candidate with the desire, initiative and motivation to manage and drive improvement. Excellent communication skills are needed to liaise between a range of parties such as board members, governors, head teachers, teaching staff, support staff, parents and to liaise with regulatory bodies such as the Department for Education (DfE), the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), Ofsted and the Local Authority.
You will often be dealing with information of a highly confidential nature, and will need to be trustworthy and discreet in order to meet our data protection obligations. You should be used to working your own initiative and be proactive in completing tasks promptly, whilst being adaptable to keep up with the unpredictable nature of the workload where demands may change constantly.
Specific experience is not essential, but you will need to be computer literate and have a flexible work ethic that will allow you to fully support the needs of the role, which will include regular evening support for official meetings and governor training.
