Our Schools are known for their academic excellence, vibrant community, and commitment to nurturing the potential of every student.

Our Governors work collaboratively through various committees to provide well-informed advice and support to our Schools. From time to time, working parties are set up to focus on achieving specific strategic priorities such as growth and expansion. Current Committees and Working Parties include:

International FHST operates as a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee, meaning Governors also serve as Trustees of the charity and Directors of the company. Prior experience as a Governor is not required; however, on this occasion we are looking specifically for an experienced Prep School Head. You must be willing to support the Schools’ Aims and Values and understand the challenges faced by London independent schools. If successful, you will become a member of Council and a member of the Education Committee. This is a voluntary role, subject to an enhanced DBS check and full clearance procedures.
If you are passionate about education and ready to make a difference, we would love to hear from you. In the first instance, please send your CV to Mrs Clair Shaw, Clerk and Advisor to Council at clerk@fhst.org.uk. You do not need to fill out an application form or write a statement.

About The Francis Holland Schools' Trust
- The Francis Holland Schools' Trust
- 35 Bourne Street
- London
- SW1W 8JF
- United Kingdom
Francis Holland Schools Trust comprises three leading independent girls' schools in three central London locations. Francis Holland, Regent's Park, was founded in 1878 and is an academically selective independent day school for girls aged 11-18 situated next to Regent's Park. Francis Holland, Sloane Square, founded just three years later in 1881, is an academically selective independent day school for girls aged 11-18 in the heart of Belgravia. In September 2024, Francis Holland Junior School will relocate to an iconic Victorian Grade II listed building, just off the King's Road, and will become Francis Holland Preparatory School for girls aged 4-11.
Now with 1,300 girls across its three schools and 220 teaching staff, the Trust provides financial stability through a shared Bursary and a Board of Governors known as The Council. There is a close working relationship between the Chair of Governors, the school Heads, and the Chief Operating Officer to ensure a dynamic, smooth-running organization. The Trust, however, recognises the different character of each school, and great value is placed on the autonomy each Head has over their school in terms of staffing, curriculum, uniform, and culture.
The outstanding achievements of the schools within the Trust have ensured a unique position and reputation within the British independent school sector, and the continued success of Francis Holland Schools is assured through our academic results, strong growth, and continued development.
