Job overview
The Governors' Support Team have 2 vacancies for flexible, well-motivated individuals. You will join a small successful team providing a high quality support service to school governing bodies. You will work closely with schools/academies - working 37 hours per week, servicing approximately 23 meetings per term, which will involve; organising agendas, attending meetings (mostly in the evenings) taking notes and writing up minutes, as well as maintaining a database of school governing bodies.
You will support and advise school governors to discharge their statutory responsibilities and to operate an effective and efficient governing body. You will act as a first point of contact between the local authority and governors. You must be a good communicator with the skills required to work with a broad range of people. You will be able to learn and become familiar with a vast range of statutory and other guidance relating to the work of Governing Bodies. You will be required to maintain and develop a service vital to Governing Bodies, Schools, Academies and the Local Authority.
It is essential you are able to demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and administration skills, you will also be organised and can ensure tight deadlines are met.
The majority of meetings serviced are held at schools throughout the East Riding of Yorkshire in the evenings. You therefore must be willing to work flexibly and whilst based at County Hall Beverley, must be able to travel extensively across the East Riding. The salary for this post is pro-rated based on a term-time working formula.
Hours: One post is a permanent full time post (term time only).
One post is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave until February 2020 (term time only).
