Middle School General Science Teacher

Founded in 2017, High Tech Academy is an innovative school, with elements of the International curriculum, American curriculum, and the Project Based Learning (PBL) instructional approach. Project Based Learning is a teaching method in which students learn by actively engaging in real-world and personally meaningful projects. Job Requirements:

- Have a solid understanding of Grade 6 subjects;

- Take responsibility for  Grade 6 Science, ICT and Social Studies subjects, supporting, nurturing and taking a genuine interest in the holistic development of all students in the grade, and have experience of teaching EAL learners;

- Contribute to project based learning (PBL), a teaching method in which students learn by actively engaging in real-world and personally meaningful projects;

- Actively promote high quality learning, where all students develop skills and concepts at high levels;

- Plan and deliver  lessons with a variety of teaching and learning approaches including strategies for differentiation and teaching EAL students;

- Contribute to developing the subject curriculum, aligning the curriculum horizontally and vertically;

- Contribute to collaborative learning at all levels of the school life;

- Create inquiry-based classrooms that develop critical thinking skills, knowledge and a range of skills within an environment based on trust and respect;

- Select relevant resources and digital tools to support and enhance learning, and promote responsible use of technology;

- Promote Global Citizenship and Intercultural Learning and help students to build their own understanding of world events and learn how to interact in a global and diverse world;

- Develop appropriate assessment tasks, monitor and track student progress, provide timely and effective individual student feedback that enhances student’s learning;

- Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues in a professional manner;

- Write formal reports twice a year, and attend parents’ meetings;

- Play an active role in the school, attend CPDs and contribute to the co-curricular programme;

- Exercise appropriate care for students’ intellectual, emotional and physical health.
