North Cambridge Academy is looking to appoint a Mathematics Graduate Assistant. The successful candidate will work in the maths department at North Cambridge Academy for a fixed period until August 31st 2020. 

The role is an exciting opportunity for a graduate considering teacher training in the near future, as the opportunity will act as an excellent introduction into teaching. The position will offer a comprehensive experience developing skills in a supportive and collegiate environment. 

The successful candidate will be fully immersed in the day to day life within the dynamic maths department and will have the opportunity to effectively manage maths lessons, intervention and small group sessions; working with and supported by the teaching staff, middle and senior leadership teams. 

The successful candidate should possess:

• A proven interest in maths and a desire to embark on a teacher training programme 

• Belief in the potential of young people, with a mind-set that all children can experience success

• Confidence, tenacity, flexibility and adaptability 

• A healthy sense of humour and can-do attitude

North Cambridge Academy has established strong mathematics partnerships with Cambridge University and high profile Cambridge Businesses regarding STEM subjects and this offers a wide range of opportunities for staff and student involvement; for example business mentoring for further careers in maths and taking part in national competitions. 

The closing date for applications is 9am on Thursday 23rd January 2020. Interviews will take place for shortlisted candidates the following week.
