This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a highly motivated recent graduate to join and support our ambitious and energetic Outdoor Education department from September 2020. This is a demanding role that requires the organisation and administration of Adventure Training within the School’s busy extra-curricular programme.
The successful applicant should have some basic qualifications in any of these disciplines: Climbing (SPA or CWA), Kayaking/Canoeing (Level 1 Coach), Sailing (DSI), and mountain walking (Mountain Leader Training), as well as experience of working with groups of young people. The College may be able to help with relevant Professional Development and thus further qualifications.
The role would suit somebody considering a career in Education, though this is a non-teaching role which will be supporting and assisting the Head of Outdoor Education in the running and provision of a number of activities throughout the year. We are looking for someone who is passionate about adventure, who has a love of the outdoors and who wishes to share that passion with enthusiastic and energetic young people.
The role is offered initially on a fixed-term basis for one or two years, from September 2020. The hours of work are 40 hours per week, for 35 weeks per year (during term-time only, plus one additional week). The salary for the role will be £14,825.89 per annum, inclusive of 4.2 weeks paid holiday. Accommodation may also be available for the successful candidate, if required.
