Graduate Assistant Teacher (Games)
We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate who is able to offer games coaching in a variety of sports, most notably netball and hockey.
This one year post offers an opportunity for a recent graduate to gain extensive and worthwhile working experience in a friendly independent school, supporting the PE and Games departments and being involved in the provision of sport throughout the School.
The post will be particularly attractive to any graduate considering a career in education. The work would be varied and the variety would, to some extent, be determined by the personality, enthusiasm and skills of the individual appointed. However, we anticipate that the Graduate Assistant would be:
· Experienced in playing or coaching hockey or netball
· Confident/able to coach an umpire both sports
· Prepared to contribute to the programme of Saturday fixtures
· Prepared to be involved in extra-curricular activities and trips
· Able to communicate effectively
· Able to take responsibility and make decisions
· Adaptable and calm under pressure
· Committed and hard-working
· Educated to a degree level
The successful applicant would be attached to an academic department, and there will be opportunity to teach some lessons under the guidance of the Head of Department. Therefore this post should be a successful springboard for those considering teaching as a career.
