Job overview

Le Régent is seeking to appoint a graduate intern (“stagiaire”). This is a residential position from 1 January to 30 June 2023. It would suit a recently qualified graduate student looking to take a break after his/her studies or who is considering the teaching profession in the future.

Founded in 2015, Le Régent is a rapidly developing Swiss boarding and day school with an international academic programme. Nearly 250 students from Switzerland and around the world are educated in a modern campus in the heart of the Valais Alps in the attractive and lively ski resort of Crans-Montana.

Le Régent follows a rigorous academic programme in English in preparation for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme while nurturing the individual talents of each student with its diverse extracurricular offering, including sports, arts, music and mountain activities. Le Régent has been under the guidance of Institut Le Rosey (

www.rosey.ch)

since August 2019.

Duties will be varied and tailored to the skills and ambitions of the stagiaire engaged but would cover many aspects of school life. These might include any of the following: classroom or sports assistant, library duty, accompanying students in sports or outings, boarding duties, creating content (photos & videos) for our social media.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with interest or specialism in the following areas:

  • Junior and Infant School (children aged 3-12) assistant
  • Junior School (children aged 7-12) assistant
  • Senior/secondary school boarding assistant
  • Sports and boarding assistant all ages
  • Outdoor Education
  • First language speakers of German, Italian, Japanese or Chinese (the latter with the ability to teach their language)
  • Library duties

We are looking for flexibility, energy and experience of working with children; some knowledge of both English and French as well as a liking for outdoor activities and sports (especially winter sports) would be a distinct advantage as would a readiness to live in an alpine environment and a driving licence.

Accommodation, board, medical insurance, travel and a ski pass are added to a basic “stagiaire” allowance.

UK APPLICANTS

Unfortunately, we cannot consider UK applicants as the Swiss State Secretariat for Migration limits admissions of third-country nationals to "managers, specialists and other qualified workers".

RECRUITMENT PROCEDURES

We reserve the right to appoint the right candidate ahead of the closing date. Appointment to take effect from 1 January 2023.
