Felsted is a leading day and boarding independent school based in a stunning village campus in North Essex. Founded in 1564 by Richard Lord Riche, who had been a Lord Chancellor under King Edward VI, Felsted today provides an exceptional holistic education to approximately 1100 boys and girls aged four to eighteen. We celebrated our 450th anniversary in 2014, one of only a handful of Schools in the country that have claimed this historic milestone. We employ more than 160 teachers and 440 operational staff in a community orientated environment, ensuring our pupils receive the very best in learning and co-curricular activities.

We are looking for a Music Graduate, with excellent Piano Keyboard skills, who is enthusiastic and passionate about Music together with excellent subject knowledge that can communicate effectively with a wide age group of students from Years 7 to 13. The role will include covering lessons when needed with the possibility of accompanying school trips. It is essential candidates have an evident passion for Music and a strong interest in the teaching and the learning process, including high expectations for all students to effectively fulfilling the role. This role will also consist of supporting Boarding and House duties.

We particularly welcome applications from those who are willing to contribute to the co-curricular learning activities at this 'Excellent in Every Aspect' by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

Full board and accommodation will be provided plus an honorarium payment. This is a fixed-term position commencing from 01 September 2017 until 31 August 2018 with the possibility of extending. This would be an ideal position for someone who holds a degree in Music and is considering a career in boarding education, teaching (though no teaching experience or qualification is required) or a career in music.
