The Role

Are you a University Graduate or studying for a degree who hopes to gain access to teacher training in the future in the following subjects?

• Maths

• English

• Science

• Humanities

• Modern Foreign Languages

The Colne Community School and College is hoping to recruit several graduates across a number of subjects. The successful candidates will be provided with the essential skills needed to be an amazing teacher... is this the kind of experience that you require?

The Colne Community School and College has a demonstrable history of supporting the individual needs of Graduate TAs and assisting them to move into the teaching profession.

During your tenure you will be welcomed into the department and will be invited to school trips, parent evenings, sporting events, extra-curricular clubs and community out-reach projects.

Your duties will vary but your main experience will centre on the classroom. Here you will assist in the general day to day activities and support the class teacher. Hopefully, in time you will develop your skill set and possibly contribute to lesson planning and gain the basic skills that a seasoned teacher takes for granted.

The lucky candidates that gain a place in this school will find that they will be leagues ahead of their cohort in teacher training.


Start date: 1 September - 31 August 2022 (Fixed term contract)

This post is for 32.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday) term-time only+ holiday entitlement+ 1 INSET day

8.30am to 3.30pm (unpaid lunch break included) Salary: LGS Scale 3 - actual salary from: £14,087
