In addition to the five full time Physical Education teachers there are several additional staff taking teams.  Public examination results are well above the national average for GCSE and A Level.  Regularly, students go on to study Sports Science or follow teaching routes at university.  The College has a long-standing reputation of developing excellent teams in a range of sports that compete at local, county and national level and regularly secure at least 30 team titles a season as well as many individual awards; we are very proud of this.

Facilities include a gymnasium, specialist teaching room which is equipped with interactive technology and multi-purpose outdoor courts for tennis, basketball and 5-a-side football.  The College sports fields are located nearby, providing excellent opportunities for football, rugby, cricket and athletics.  A 3G all-weather facility capable of hosting U18 football/rugby fixtures, was opened in May 2017.  Also located at the fields are outdoor cricket nets and a sports pavilion.

The Department organises many sports tours, with trips including an U15 rugby tour to Spain in February 2017; football tours to America in 2011, 2015, 2017 & 2019. An U14 & U15 football tour is planned to Lisbon during half term in February 2022 and a golf and tennis tour to the Algarve, Portugal in July 2022.

The College provides an enjoyable environment in which to work. The pupils are well disciplined, enthusiastic and respectfully friendly. Teaching staff foster a caring relationship with the pupils, and through academic study, sporting and cultural activities, and the scope to develop in posts of responsibility, the boys and girls emerge as rounded, well-educated polite young people. There are numerous opportunities for staff to contribute to the wider extra-curricular life of the College and new initiatives are encouraged.
