We are seeking an enthusiastic person for the role of grounds person. The successful applicant will demonstrate capability in the following Key Result Areas: Contribute to and promote the development of the mission and vision of St. Mary’s Primary School; Demonstrates the capability of working both individually and in a team environment; Understands and displays compliance with all Workplace Health & Safety requirements; Shown capabilities to carry out all duties as per the St. Mary’s Duty Statement; Current holder of a Blue Card.


St Mary’s Primary School is situated in the historic Queensland provincial city of Ipswich, 45 km from Brisbane CBD. Our beautiful, historical architecture of sandstone buildings are a visual reminder that quality Catholic Education has been delivered on our site for over 150 years.  We are a co-educational school with a current enrolment of 575 students from Prep through to Year 6. The dedicated teaching and support staff endeavour to provide high quality, inclusive education by providing engaging learning activities that support not only students’ academic advancement but also their personal growth based upon a Catholic Christian tradition.

Estimated Start Date:
  Commencing 15th July 2019

Position Tenure:   Continuing

Weeks Worked:  Up to 52 weeks per year including school holidays

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):  

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   38 hours per week - required to work on Monday - Friday of each week. Starting and finishing time will be negotiated with the successful applicant. Four weeks annual leave.

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   Services Staff Level 3

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
