St Agatha's Primary School, Clayfield is seeking a Groundsperson for Term 4, 2020.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a groundskeeping role, ideally in a school environment.

Duties include: Minor landscaping work; maintaining clean and tidy school grounds; routine non-trade maintenance and repairs; setting up for school events; compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.

The successful candidate will have a good work ethic and seek to achieve quality work whilst maintaining the highest level of safety.

All candidates must have a Paid Work Blue Card before you start working—under the No Card, No Start laws that started on 31 August 2020.

St Agatha’s School is a co-educational Catholic Primary School, located 6 km north-east of Brisbane city. The school caters for approximately 340 students from Prep through to Year 6. To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.


Estimated Start Date:
  Commencing 6 October 2020

Position Tenure:   Fixed Term

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):   Term 4, 2020

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   38 hours per week - required to work Monday to Friday 7.6 hr per day

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   Services Staff Level 1 - $26.14 per hour

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
