Job overview

Fortune College is an Independent Specialist Provider, which includes the provision of a residential Further Education Through Horsemastership Course, for young adults with learning difficulties/disabilities. Teaching is horse based and learning is through the transfer of skills.

To be the point of contact for a group of students, and to be responsible for overseeing, co-ordinating and reporting individual student learning.

Candidates will ideally hold a teaching qualification (DTLLS min), BHS PTT and have experience with people who have learning difficulties/disabilities.

Hours: 40 per week over 52 weeks p/a (30 days paid leave) worked over 5 days per week (to include weekend and evening duties).

Salary range: £24,500 - £25,500 gross p/a, dependant on relevant qualifications and experience, pension, savings platform, health cash plan, life cover and income protection.

Fortune College is a specialist college for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities aged 16-25. 

The college’s Further Education Through Horsemastership (FETH) Course offers an educational residential/day programme, working with horses, that prepares young people with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible and participate in their local community. 

The college provides the opportunity to achieve accredited qualifications, develop communication skills, independent living skills, self confidence and skills for working life.
