We are looking to recruit a motivational and innovative Lecturer to deliver a range of English qualifications across the Colleges of the Hadlow Group, including GCSE and Functional skills.

The successful candidate will be committed to motivating and inspiring students to develop their English skills. Ideally you will need a teaching qualification, or the willingness to work towards one, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of an expanding team. Flexibility is required to work across all sites of the Hadlow Group. 

Ideally, you will be an experienced teacher with practical knowledge of delivery and assessment of a range of English qualifications, committed to the holistic development of students within an inclusive environment. Alternatively you will have a passion for the English language and be qualified to a minimum of Level 3, possess the drive to make a career in teaching and dedicated to ensuring students are successful in improving their English skills. 

Hadlow College wants to attract and retain talented staff to develop and continue their careers with us. As part of a developing employee benefits package, Hadlow is offering a Golden Hello scheme to Lecturers in English.

The College will pay newly appointed English Lecturers a Golden Hello payment of £3,000.

To be eligible for the Golden Hello payment you need to hold a:


  • degree level qualification in      English 
  • teaching      qualification, or enrol into initial teacher training at the College      (either WKAC or Hadlow) upon commencement of employment. 

In addition to the minimum requirements detailed above, candidates will also need a teaching qualification or the willingness to work towards one. Support is given to those who wish to train and as they work for the qualification, staff will receive a bonus of £600.00 in the third year and £750.00 in their fourth year, providing they have successfully gained their full teaching qualification at Hadlow College.

As well as a contributory pension scheme, health cash plan and free car parking, this post also attracts seven weeks holiday each year (excluding bank holidays).

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check and provide proof of their right to work in the UK.

Hadlow College lies in the heart of picturesque West Kent, with good transport links that make it ideal for both town and country. Surrounded by farms and agricultural enterprises it is nevertheless only 40 minutes by train from central London and on direct bus routes to Tonbridge, Royal Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone.
