Nelson and Colne College are an Ofsted Outstanding College with an excellent local reputation. We are looking for an experience administrator to work within our Higher Education Department. 


Working within the HE department, the successful candidate will be committed to providing first rate administration with an exceptional eye for detail. It is of paramount importance that the candidate has a working knowledge of General Data Protection Regulation and has a confidential approach to all aspects of the role.


Main duties include:

1. Efficient and effective delivery of a comprehensive administrative service as part of the HE Office

2. Ensure services provided adhere to appropriate quality assurance procedures and are in line with the Data Protection Act and GDPR

3. Handling telephone enquiries and following up with the relevant information.

4. Organisation of, and participation in, the Higher Education Divisions team events and functions

5. The preparation of agendas and servicing meetings including taking, producing and distributing minutes.

6. Provide a general administration and IT document production (i.e. Validation Documentation) service to Higher Education 


The ideal candidates will have:

• Administration Qualification at least Level 3

• Word processing and Excel for Windows Application and experience of working with large data bases and/or student record systems

• Proven organisational skills and ability and broad experience of administrative and secretarial skills

• Proven ability to work to strict deadlines, under pressure and without supervision

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
