Head Chef

37 hours per week • Monday to Thursday: 7am-3pm and Friday: 7am-2.30pm

Term time plus INSET days and one week during school holidays - 40 weeks

We are looking to appoint a Head Chef to be responsible for operational efficiency of the catering service. To lead the kitchen team on a day to day basis, preparing, cooking and serving school meals to the highest quality that both our pupils and staff appreciate.

You need to have working knowledge of the correct storage, handling and preparation of food to catering regulations. Previous experience of mass catering in a similar environment is essential. The applicant must have a minimum of a NVQ level 3 in food preparation and cooking or equivalent qualification, as well as good knowledge of food hygiene with a relevant certificate.

The successful applicant will be able to provide a friendly and efficient service to pupils and staff of the school and be resourceful, adaptable and able to show initiative.
