Job overview
The Governors of Stover School are looking to appoint a dynamic and imaginative Head who will build upon the successful progress made over the past ten years by our current Head and drive the school forward in the next stage of development. The successful candidate will build on our strong foundations and excellent ISI reports and inspire us to continue to improve with a clear strategic vision for the future of the school based around the school’s established Christian ethos, values and aims.
Stover School is set in 64 acres of beautiful and historical grounds in the heart of Devon’s glorious countryside between the foothills of Dartmoor and the South West coastline.
This appointment is a great opportunity for an existing or aspiring Head to make a lasting impact on this vibrant, happy school (growing from 250 to 500 pupils in the last few years), which seeks, above all, to prepare confident and independent young people to adapt and succeed in an ever-changing world. The new Head must be willing to work closely with Governors and staff to take the school on to the next stage of its development.
First-class communication skills, a passion for all-through co-education and the flexibility to adapt to a fast-changing educational landscape will be crucial. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with the ability to inspire and enthuse, to be both sensitive and firm in direction and to be a leader with business acumen and stamina.
