ROMAN CATHOLIC AND ANGLICAN FOUNDATION INDEPENDENT CO-EDUCATIONAL DAY AND BOARDING SCHOOL FOR OVER 450 BOYS & GIRLS

The Governors invite applications for the post of Head, which will become vacant in August 2016 when the present Head, Mr Tim Waters, leaves to become Principal of Sherborne International.

Trinity School is a joint Roman Catholic and Anglican foundation and the successful candidate should be a practising member of either church. Although Christian principles permeate all aspects of school life, the School has a non-denominational enrolment and consists of an outstanding Nursery Department of 137 infants, a thriving Preparatory Department of 122 pupils and a successful Senior Department of 207, including 66 boarders.

The School prides itself on its boarding ethos, its pastoral care and its provision for the spiritual, cultural, moral and social needs of every individual child throughout the School. The successful candidate will demonstrate the character and skills necessary to lead the School in the next stage of its development.

Trinity School is an independent, co-educational, all-through school for children aged 3-19 years old. It is situated in Teignmouth, Devon, and has approximately 490 day and boarding pupils. Bursaries and scholarships are available.

Trinity School was founded in 1979. It is a Christian school built on joint Anglican and Roman Catholic foundations. Pupils of all faiths and none are welcome in the school, which follows a Christian ethos in all aspects of school life.

Trinity School places great value on the work of the chaplaincy, which gives pupils the opportunity to explore the Christian faith, as well as acting as another strand in school's pastoral support.

"The school provides a welcoming environment where pupils of all ages and abilities feel valued and encouraged to learn. Informed by the school’s ecumenical traditions, its ethos creates a community where pupil are welcomed as individuals with unique abilities and talents and are enabled to make good progress overall. The curriculum is good, enabling pupils to develop their basic skills in literacy, numeracy, scientific exploration and the creative arts as they progress from the EYFS to the sixth form. Pupils are confident and articulate, use information and communication technology (ICT) completely, work independently and cooperatively, and make good progress according to their ability. Lessons are well prepared and teachers use their subject knowledge well to encourage and support their pupils.”
