Job overview
Arnold House was founded in 1905 in St John’s Wood. It is an independent preparatory school located in London, NW8, for boys from 3 to 13, and a member of IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools). In our recent ISI inspection it was reported that pupils’ academic achievement and personal development are both excellent.
We are looking for an experienced Head Grounds Manager to manage and maintain the highest standards of playing surfaces and surrounding environment (mostly hedges and trees) at our superb Activity Centre at Canons Park. You will plan the management and maintenance of the grounds throughout the seasons and in accordance with the transition from one sport to another over the year, factoring in time for renovation and upkeep of the pitches in line with requirements of the Director of Sport.
You will report to the Estates and Facilities Manager and be accountable to him for the quality and development of the grounds, while adhering to an agreed budget.
The package includes onsite accommodation in a purpose-built flat. Living onsite, you will also be responsible for security of the site, including unlocking in the morning and locking up in the evening.

About Arnold House School
Arnold House School is an independent Church of England primary school for boys aged 3-13, located in the St John's Wood area of north-west London. Arnold House School was established in 1905 with just nine pupils. Today there are eight year groups, each divided into two forms.
The school aims for class sizes of between 16 and 18. The main academic subjects are taught with a view to meeting the standards set by the Common Entrance syllabus, which relates to the demands of the national curriculum but with extra time devoted to French, classics and games.
