Ashville College is seeking to recruit a highly-motivated Head Groundsman to join its Estates and Facilities department.
The prime role of the Head Groundsman is to ensure the external sports facilities are maintained to a high standard to support the school’s extensive sports programme. The Head Groundsman will manage a small team (including apprentices), who are also responsible for maintaining the school’s gardens and keeping the external spaces clean, tidy and safe.
Ashville’s sports facilities include an all-weather pitch, two cricket pitches, approximately 18 acres of rugby£ pitches, 5 netball courts and a basketball court. Additionally, the College has well established and attractive gardens spaces, and a number of playgrounds that the grounds team maintain.
The successful candidate will have a formal qualification in groundsman-ship, turf management or horticulture, along with formal qualifications in health & safety and will have experience in staff supervision.
This role is a full time, full year position working a shift pattern with some weekend working and offers a salary of approximately £25,000 per annum (depending on experience).
