Head Junior School

Marina International School, The Gambia, West Africa is a well established co-educational day school  which follows the Cambridge International Primary, Secondary 1, Secondary 2 and Cambridge Advanced exam programme.
Marina was founded in 1958 and is a not-for-profit Foundation owned by the Parents Teachers Association. The School consist of a Junior and High School and each school has a separate head. We attract both local and international students. 

Due to retirement of our current head, we are looking for a dynamic Head to lead our school and take us to an outstanding level. Above all, we are looking for someone with drive and passion to ignite the minds of our children and nurture and help staff expose their full potential. There will be opportunities to work with the Board and its sub committees on exciting projects around the school.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who constantly strives to improve performance through inspiring and leading others and wants to make an impact.
Applicants for the post must have experience with the British Curriculum and international exposure; Early Years and Primary Experience, with a minimum of 5 years experience and a Masters of Education or Bachelors Degree.

We offer a competitive local salary with other allowances, an expatriate allowance (where applicable), rent free accommodation and a flight provision. 
The post is currently offered as a two-year fixed term contract, renewable subject to performance and national immigration requirements etc. A permanent contract status can be considered for Gambian nationals.

About Marina International School

Marina International School is an all-through, independent, mainstream school for girls and boys aged between three and 16 years old. It is based in Banjul, in the Republic of the Gambia. It prepares the students for their IGCSE, AS and A-level examinations. It follows the British curriculum. The educational establishment is funded by the state. The school opened more than 50 years ago. At the moment, there are around 1,000 children on the roll at the school.
