Head

Located on the outskirts of the beautiful cathedral city of Canterbury, Kent College is a co-educational day and boarding school for 782 pupils aged 3 months to 18 years. Following a sustained period of successful growth and development, including the opening of Kent College Dubai in 2016, a virtual school in Hong Kong in 2020 and Kent College Cairo due to be opened in September 2022, the Governors are now looking to appoint an exceptional leader to the role of Head from January 2022.
Kent College is thriving and student numbers (both boarding and day) have doubled over the last 10 years. The care and attention given to the individual at Kent College is key and has led to its distinct positioning in the local and international market, as well as success in academic endeavors and national honours in sport and the arts. The family of schools has grown in recent years and continues to develop locally, with the addition of Lorenden Preparatory School and the opening of Garden Cottage Nursery, as well as internationally.
Reporting to the Board of Governors, the Head of Kent College has overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the family of schools. This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding candidate who is aspirational and ambitious to build on these foundations and play a pivotal role in the strategic development of Kent College in the coming years.
Kent College is a member of the Methodist Independent Schools Trust and a commitment to, and empathy with, the wider educational and charitable mission of the Trust will also be essential.
Further information on the school can be found at www.kentcollege.com and a candidate brief, including details of how to apply, can be downloaded from www.odgers.com/81341.
Applications should be sent by Monday 8 February to Odgers Berndtson.
Kent College Canterbury is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
