Job overview

The Mill Hill School Foundation is seeking to appoint an outstanding individual who will take the school forward into its next exciting chapter, building on the very successful tenure of Jane Sanchez.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering strong academic and pastoral excellence, a passion for education and a commitment to a genuinely holistic education within a day and boarding school environment. In a competitive environment for independent education, the appointee must have the ability to inspire and motivate staff and pupils, winning the trust and confidence of all the stakeholders.

Mill Hill School is the largest school in the Foundation. The four Mill Hill-based schools of the Mill Hill School Foundation are set in 160 acres of beautiful grounds, with woods, fields and sports pitches as far as the eye can see. Central London is only 10 miles away. For such a large school, Mill Hill School retains a remarkably vibrant sense of community, with a pronounced excellence in pastoral care.

The school is notably unpretentious, retaining an institutional humility that is the key to innovation and continual improvement. The diversity of staff and pupils in part reflects being a boarding and day school in North-West London, but is also part of the School’s history, not least through a long-standing commitment to providing means-tested bursaries to attend the school.

This is an excellent opportunity. The successful candidate will not only be responsible for the day to day management of the School but also play a key role in leading, articulating and implementing the strategic planning of Mill Hill School, including shaping the design of the exciting campus master plan.

Interested candidates are warmly invited to have an initial, confidential conversation with key members of the team at RSAcademics who are handling this appointment.
