Town Close School is one of the largest and most successful co-educational day schools in the country with some 460 children aged 3 to 13. It enjoys a superb location close to the city centre of Norwich on a beautiful 10-acre site, including conservation woodland, alongside a further five acres of sports pitches nearby.

Town Close aims to produce motivated, well-adjusted, confident children, who are caring, sociable and who know the value of hard work. The School provides a rounded, balanced education to fully prepare pupils for the next stage of their academic lives, equipping them to make a valuable contribution to their next school and to society. The School has an outstanding reputation, with a high number of pupils consistently celebrating scholarship success, and leadership positions, in a range of prominent local and national senior schools.

The Governors are now seeking to appoint an inspirational, visionary and empowering leader who will continue to develop Town Close within its competitive marketplace. The Head will lead the Town Close community through the next iteration of its strategic development, including improvements to the infrastructure of the School, with an exciting estates project to oversee.

The successful candidate will demonstrate full alignment with the School’s educational aims and values, have a desire to nurture its strengths and clearly articulate these within a contemporary and compelling vision. He or she will be a dynamic, decisive and forward-looking Head who demonstrates compassionate leadership, innovative ideas and excellent communication skills, as well as wanting to embrace all that the future holds. The Governors encourage applications from inspiring, aspirational school leaders, irrespective of the number of years’ experience.
