Job overview

A well-qualified Head of Art & Design is required for September 2017. The Art and Design department is busy, diverse and innovative and we welcome applicants who can bring vision and energy to build on these foundations. The Art and Design department is highly successful at all levels and the corridors of the School showcase the talents of the boys. The School’s long standing record of high achievement (93.6% A* to B at A Level in 2015) is reflected in the Art and Design Department’s recent results. The post will involve teaching at all levels in the School.

The School occupies fine, modern buildings near St. Paul’s Cathedral overlooking the Thames, opposite the Tate Modern.

Salary will be paid on the CLS scale (£32,790-£57,330 pa 2016-2017) plus HoD allowance Level 10.

City of London School is an independent school based in London for boys aged 10-18.

The school site is situated by the Thames. It has over 20 acres of sports pitches. It was established in 1834 and moved to its present site in 1986. The school is governed by a board and by the City of London Corporation, which appoints its governors.
