Job overview
HEAD OF BIOLOGY
COLEGIO HISPANO BRITANICO, LANZAROTE
Are you ready for a challenge? We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced teacher of biology. The successful candidate will teach students from Key Stage 3 to A level in the school's thriving science department and be responsible for the biology curriculum across the school. Our students sit IGCSE in all three sciences with CIE examination board. Biology is a popular A level choice so applicants must have experience of teaching to this level.
This small and unusual school on a paradise island constantly obtains world class results for its students. Our average length of staff service is eighteen years and so this is a rare opportunity resulting from the retirement of the current teacher.
Low Spanish wages and high accommodation prices are the main drawbacks, but good experienced teachers can expect outstanding results from their students and enjoy an unrivalled quality of life.

About Colegio Hispano Britanico
The Colegio Hispano Britanico is a relatively small, yet highly successful school, on the island of Lanzarote. We cater for children of many nationalities from the ages of 3 to 18 years teaching the English National Curriculum, in addition to Spanish language and social studies.
The school has a strong academic focus; students sit IGCSE and A level examinations with CIE and Edexcel boards. The majority of our students go to universities in Britain after leaving us.
Our small class sizes, a maximum of 16 students per class, enable us to work closely with all pupils and discipline problems rarely arise.
