Walhampton is an independent preparatory day and boarding school for 370 boys and girls aged 3-13. The school is set in 100 acres of stunning grounds in the New Forest and overlooks the Solent and Isle of Wight.

Are you passionate about boarding education and the pastoral care of Prep children? If so, Walhampton is offering a superb opportunity for just such a suitably qualified and experienced person. We are seeking to appoint a Head of Boarding who would also lead our outstanding boarding house from September 2019. 

This opportunity could also suit a couple with each person taking responsibility for the boarding and with one becoming the Head of Boarding. If applying as a couple, it would be preferable that at least one of the applicants has qualified teacher status. The school, however, will also welcome applications from those who are able to contribute to the life of the school other than through teaching.

The role involves overall management and responsibility for approximately 60 full and flexi boarding boys and girls from Years 3 to 8. The Head of Boarding will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).  The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the National Minimum Standards (NMS) for Boarding Schools and the provision for the welfare, safeguarding and pastoral care required in a boarding house.
