Queen Ethelburga’s is an Independent Collegiate of four co-educational schools. We are now seeking an experienced Head of Boarding with a passion for the pastoral care of Boarders to join our Senior Leadership Team, undertaking an active role in whole school strategic planning, while efficiently managing the staff and organisation of the Upper Key Stage 5 boarding. Additionally, they will be the Designated Fire Safety Officer for Boarding.  

The successful candidate will organise staffing, will lead, motivate and develop the Boarding staff and will support students within our boarding community. They should have knowledge of the National Minimum Standards for Boarding schools OFSTED/ISI Inspection criteria, and have relevant experience of working with young people between the ages of 6 and 18.

The successful candidate should have:

· Excellent organisational skills

· Excellent oral and written communication skills 

· Positive and sympathetic approach to children

· Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

· Educated to degree level

· Experience with Fire Safety

· Experience of management in a boarding school

· Be a Dynamic and innovative thinker

As a Boarding manager and leader the role is demanding, with long hours which, by the very nature of the role must be flexible. You will need resilience and a passion for pastoral care to succeed in this key role, which is both rewarding and fulfilling.
