We are looking for an experienced female (GOQ) member of staff who has a genuine interest in, and liking for, young people to take day-to-day responsibility for the running of the boarding areas and for line-managing the residential staff who care for the girls. You will have warmth, a sense of humour and sound common sense. You will be robust, resilient, open-minded and flexible in your approach, be willing to take the initiative, and demonstrate good judgement. You will have excellent inter-personal and communication skills; you will lead by example; and you will have, ideally, a background in schools or other caring professions. You will be a confident manager of staff.

St Mary's School Ascot is a leading Roman Catholic girls' boarding school set in 55 acres of beautiful grounds in the heart of Berkshire. We are a friendly, stable and caring community, proud of our academic and sporting achievements and dedicated to bringing out the full potential of each of our 390 pupils. There are 120 pupils in the sixth form. We are committed to full boarding, with spaces for a few day pupils living nearby. We offer a stimulating range of co-curricular activities which take place in the evenings and throughout the weekend.
St Mary’s has a strong reputation as an academic school within the Catholic tradition. Entry to the school is selective. All pupils are expected to take 9 or 10 GCSEs, and almost all stay on for the Sixth Form to pursue their A Levels. Our leavers invariably go on to higher education, the vast majority to Russell Group universities or similar, including 10-15% to Oxbridge.
