The role

We are looking for an exceptional leader to join our team. If you are an outstanding Business and Economics teacher looking for an opportunity to make your mark in the ongoing transformation of an inner-city secondary school this is the perfect opportunity for you. As Head (CL) of Business and Economics, you will be responsible for the teaching and learning, outcomes and continuous development of the department. You can also expect to play a strategic leadership role in the academy’s future. The leadership team at Lambeth Academy strongly believes in giving autonomy to outstanding middle leaders and is always open to creative and innovative ideas.

The main duties of the role are outlined in more detail below, but the principal responsibilities include ensuring a highly effective department where teaching and learning is excellent across all lessons and where all students make great progress, regardless of their starting points. You will be responsible to, and highly supported by, one of our Assistant Principals.

About You

You will need to have QTS and a good honours degree in the relevant subject area. The successful candidate will also need to be able to work independently as well as part of a team. You will need to be able to work under pressure, have excellent communications skills, and be computer literate.

You will have experience in delivering high quality teaching and learning, be a consistently good to outstanding teacher and have high personal and professional standards.

You will be enthusiastic about working within a school environment and supporting the needs of the Academy.

About the Cluster: The two United Learning South London Academies – Lambeth and Hurlingham formalised a cluster arrangement in September 2018 with the vision to provide a high quality and comprehensive partnership in order to support and nourish our local young people. This arrangement has allowed us to share knowledge and expertise across both academies.
