We are looking for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Head of Business & Economics to join our over-subscribed school with a thriving Sixth Form. The department delivers GCSE, BTEC, NCFE and A Level Business & Economics courses
This post is suitable for an experienced teacher to lead this successful and forward thinking department and is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is committed to inspiring and motivating students through innovative and engaging teaching.
Hollyfield is a beautiful school located in the Surbiton area of Surrey, it has good transport links to central London enabling our staff and young people to take full advantage of the wealth of opportunities that the city offers. The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria:
• QTS;
• a broad base of subject knowledge;
• the ability to teach across GCSE, BTEC & A Level Business and
Economics;
• A track record of success in middle leadership;
• a clear vision for a knowledge-rich curriculum;
• a clear understanding of successful classroom practice and evidence
based teaching;
• the ability to work effectively as part of a curriculum team;
• the ability to employ a range of teaching and learning
strategies;
• the ability to maintain good classroom behaviour;
• effective interpersonal skills and the desire to work effectively as
part of a team;
• the ability to demonstrate suitability to work with children and
young people;
• the ability to run Young Enterprise.
Business is held in high regard at The Hollyfield School and the proportion of students taking business at KS4 is extremely high. Many go on to study business in our thriving Sixth Form. We are currently developing our knowledge-rich curriculum in conjunction with our partner departments in the Trust in order to provide our students with a world class programme of study.
This role is ideal for an individual who is committed to helping our students achieve their very best. We want the best people for our roles, so while this is primarily a full time role, we recognise that sometimes those best suited to roles on offer aren’t available full time.
