Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding leader of the Business and Economics department in our very successful 11-18 school. The department has consistently delivered outstanding outcomes for the students. We are looking for a creative and driven professional who can further develop our existing provision. Central Foundation is located on the Old Street Silicon Roundabout and at the heart of the Tech City. We expect the successful candidate to tap into this local potential and amazing business opportunities offered on our doorstep to broaden our students’ experience and increase their chances of success.

Rated outstanding by Ofsted in February 2015, Central Foundation is in the top 10% of the schools in the country based on GCSE outcomes. In 2015, 78% of our Year 11 students achieved 5 A*-Cs including English and maths GCSEs.

Business Studies and Economics courses are very popular with our students at both GCSE and A level.

The behaviour of students is outstanding and the disciplined environment allows the teachers to focus on delivering great academic outcomes.

We are very ambitious in our aim to provide the best possible opportunities for our students. We set high standards for all professionals working at the school but we also provide a very strong net of support for both new and existing colleagues.

Central Foundation is:

  • an outstanding school (Ofsted, February 2015)
  • a school that is situated in a vibrant multi-cultural environment next to the ‘silicon roundabout’ on the edge of the City of London and with excellent transport links
  • not a typical boys’ school, over half the staff are female.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced criminal record check.
