An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead an experienced team of Chemistry teachers at one of the South West’s leading independent schools. With a subject curriculum designed to educate, enrich and empower, we are looking for a well-qualified professional who is a passionate advocate for their subject and has the drive to move it forward. With a deep and broad subject knowledge, you will be enthusiastic and inclusive in approach and able to inspire pupils at all levels to excel. An excellent practitioner, the successful candidate will be ambitious and have the desire to actively enhance the profile of this key department within the wider school community. Liaising with the Heads of Department of the other sciences, you will be able to adopt a collaborative approach to enrich the science curriculum more widely. The ability to teach across the three sciences (or any other subject) would be an advantage.
Plymouth College has a wide range of extra-curricular activities to which all members of staff are expected to give a full commitment, according to their abilities, with games, clubs and societies. Prospective candidates should be willing to be involved with the wider life of a busy boarding and day school.
The start date for this position is flexible, but ideally looking for January 2023 or later by arrangement.
