Tes is supporting the appointment of an exceptional subject specialist to lead a Classics department at a school based in Westminster.

The role is an excellent opportunity for a teacher seeking to develop their career or an experienced Head of Department looking for a fresh challenge.

Classics at the school is taught in its own classroom to all boys from Year 6. Candidates will be expected to have experience and/or knowledge of 13+ Common Entrance and scholarship This exciting development offers opportunities for vibrant teachers willing to develop the department and be involved in all aspects of school life. 

Qualifications

  • Good Honours degree and minimum of A Level or equivalent in Latin
  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Well-developed ICT skills would be desirable.

Experience

  • Several years’ teaching experience and a proven track record of excellent teaching ability and classroom management skills
  • The ability to teach Latin up to Year 8 and scholarship, with experience up to GCSE desirable but not required
