Job overview

A unique opportunity presents itself for an innovative and visionary leader to join Dulwich College Beijing International (DCB).  Established in 2005, DCB is a high-performing, co-educational independent school catering for circa 1500 expatriate children aged 2–18 from forty-five countries, across six continents.  The College is situated in the capital city of the second largest and fastest growing economy in the world, 45 minutes from both the Great Wall and Tiananmen Square.  Students excel academically and examination results are consistently among the best in Asia.  The College has built a reputation for excellence in sport and the arts, underpinned by a deep commitment to the individual needs and enthusiasms of each pupil.

The College is comprised of three schools, each with its own Head: Early Years, Junior School and Senior School. The College is selective at entry and offers a bespoke curriculum from Early Years to Year 9 based on our DCI Learning Principles, IGCSEs and the IB Diploma. As part of the Dulwich College International network, DCB is able to offer both students and staff opportunities that a single school would not be able to provide.  DCI has developed a comprehensive school leadership system that provides individual schools with independence and autonomy while ensuring each College embraces their Worldwise philosophy.  The Head of College is a member of the DCI Steering Group, which helps shape network educational initiatives across the College and High School programmes.

Starting in August 2020, the successful candidate will be an established leader and educator who inspires individuals, understands international contexts, places students first and ensures that teaching and learning is at the heart of all their decision making. Dulwich College International welcomes applicants from a diversity of curriculum contexts.   These professional attributes need to be combined with exceptional skills in communication and collaboration, enabling the Head of College to take a prominent role in the DCI and DCB communities.
