Established in 1946, Markham College is a regional influence in South America  for educational leadership and academic excellence. We are an independent, non-profit, co-educational school that provides bilingual education to children from 3-18 years of age at our Miraflores and Surco campuses in Lima Peru.

Markham has a British heritage and international perspective. We have an adapted British Curriculum that respects our distinct Peruvian setting. Our Early Years bilingual programme starts at 3 years old and leads them towards IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma examinations. Our IB program, with over 29 courses, gives students the tools to succeed in universities world wide. We encourage diversity and support passion by allowing our students and staff to choose from over 100 different extracurricular activities and sports.

Our mission is to support children to become leaders in their chosen fields and be agents of change in Peru and the world. To achieve this, our curriculum is underpinned by the pillars of academic and creative endeavour, character development and service learning. Consequently, we have several features that make Markham special and unique. Our outdoor education programme and social programmes ensure that students receive a balanced and rounded education focusing on how they can make a difference in society. Furthermore, our student leadership programme means our children are a central part of the decision making process with regard to their learning experiences.

Markham teachers play a role in the pastoral care of our children. Supporting our students' emotional, psychological, and physical development as well as their academic growth throughout their Markham journey.

Peru´s rich cultural history and its amazing territory offers a wealth of opportunities for unforgettable experiences. Over 3000 km of Pacific Ocean coastline through the majestic Andean high peaks to the vast Amazon rainforest provide an infinite number of places, sports and adventures.

Markham is a non-profit school which allows us to offer salaries, infrastructure and materials that are aligned with international standards. Early Years and Primary are located on our Monterrico 27,778 m2 campus. Which houses our newest state-of-the-art educational facility which reflects the school's advanced pedagogic approach.

Markham has moved away from the traditional four-wall classroom, by developing flexible learning spaces that encourage independent learning in different environments. Teachers are developing new ways of working and collaborating across groups and disciplines in our ‘Learning Communities’ which give students at Markham more autonomy and choices in planning and executing their learning journey.
