We are looking for an inspirational and visionary individual to join the College in the full-time post of Head of Computer Science, who can build on the academic success of the subject area, to lead and further develop the team. This post will have an additional cross-college responsibility to lead on a digital initiative to enhance teaching and learning through the development of digital skills such as VR and AI. This is a new post to join a team of professionals in a growing subject area, where the Digital provision is responsive and progressive.

COMPUTER SCIENCE at Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College

Computer Science and all the Digital subjects are high performing within our Outstanding College. We are now seeking to appoint an exceptional leader and manager to lead the subject area of Computer Science in this growth area, hence the decision to create a new and bespoke Computer Science department. You will have the drive and enthusiasm to provide a high quality and challenging learning experience for our students whilst also ensuring a supportive and encouraging environment. This new department will liaise with the existing Digital department, which is lively, dynamic and progressive in terms of its approaches to delivering the specifications we currently offer. Computer Science A Level and all of the Digital curriculum are delivered in new purpose build accommodation with specialist resources to meet industry standard specifications.

The Digital department has a wealth of experience and professional knowledge and is committed to providing a breadth of opportunity in response to local and national need. Leeds is often described as the ‘Digital Nexus of the North’ and we are particularly pleased to have secured industry placements with specialised prominent digital employers. 

Please note the post also attracts a Golden Hello payment of £2,500, which would be paid as a one-off lump sum to the successful candidate upon commencing employment (this payment is subject to the successful candidate remaining at the College for at least two years).
