Job overview

Join a school at the forefront of workload and wellbeing.

Court Moor School is a high-achieving 11-16 comprehensive school in Fleet with a fantastic reputation and sky-high ambition. We are privileged to work with bright students and talented staff. We are looking for a dynamic and committed individual to work in our Computing department.

Our over-subscribed school has the privilege of teaching students who are the highest attaining at KS2 in Hampshire with a high APS on entry - our challenge is to maintain and accelerate their progress.

Many of our students are enthused about computing and we are looking for either a teacher of computing or, for more experienced candidates, a Head of Computing. Computing has been a popular subject at GCSE and results are typically strong – 79% 9-4 and 50% 9-7 in 2022. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative teacher of computing who can continue to develop the department.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • A friendly and supportive department, staff, SLT and governing body.
  • Pro-active staff development to guide your career and manage your skills portfolio; preparing you for internal and external promotion.
  • A school where student conduct is strong; a place you can focus on teaching rather than managing behaviour.
  • A school that relies on professional trust; we employ good people and leave them to get on with it.
  • A school where all staff are eligible for one flexi-day a year; a paid day to take off in term time to do whatever you want.
  • A school committed to reducing workload, flexible working and promoting work-life balance.

Should you wish to visit the school or talk to key staff prior to application then we would welcome the opportunity to meet you and show you around our school. If you would like to arrange an informal chat with Assistant Headteacher, Julia Vale, then please call 01252 615065 or email julia.vale@court-moor.hants.sch.uk

For an application pack including role profile, person specification and more information about our school, please email adminoffice@court-moor.hants.sch.uk or log onto the website http://www.court-moor.hants.sch.uk

Closing date: Wednesday 1 February 2023*

*should the school receive strong applications before the closing date they reserve the right to interview earlier than this date. If you are interested then please contact us sooner rather than later.

Court Moor School and Hampshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.

“Students are very happy, feel safe and enjoy coming to this school; attendance is well above average. Their exceptionally respectful and considerate behaviour contributes significantly to the calm and purposeful atmosphere in the school. Students achieve well; most usually gain better than average GCSE results across the majority of subjects. Throughout the school, they demonstrate confidence in tackling work of a high level.
