 If you are looking for an opportunity to join a happy, high-achieving school where the value of PSHE is championed by the senior leadership team and where you will be grown and supported, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

We seek someone with the potential, skills, and drive to be a great PSHE Lead Teacher. This exciting role includes leadership of the PSHE curriculum and teaching team, alongside whole school and strategic work to ensure that our students are able and confident to make informed, safe, positive choices about all aspects of their life and wellbeing.

This post will allow for the development of our curriculum to ensure that we offer enriching and ambitious opportunities to all of our pupils so that they have the skills and knowledge to be responsible, respectful and active young people for the future.

We are looking for a teacher with:

●                   The capacity to lead the curriculum and its development in PSHE

●                   a genuine passion for pupils’ personal development and wider development

●                   proven skills regarding communication with staff, pupils and parents

●                   a clear understanding of how to develop and enrich pupil’s development and understanding of wider issues that will enhance their lives.

This demanding role is a very exciting opportunity where you can make a difference. Sustaining the wider pupil personal development is a key issue in our whole school improvement and this role is a key area for improvement in our transition from good to great.

Hollyfield is a beautiful school with a thriving sixth form, in the Surbiton area of Outer London. Excellent transport links enable our staff and young people to take full advantage of the wealth of opportunities that London provides. We are an ambitious school that puts student achievement and wellbeing at its heart.

Hollyfield is part of the Every Child, Every Day Multi Academy Trust and we have strong relationships with our Trust partners. In March 2020 we were judged by Ofsted to be ‘good’. The trust provides excellent subject-level support and leadership CPD through the NPQ programmes. This role would be an outstanding opportunity for someone who is looking for their first middle-leadership position or for an experienced middle leader who wants to work within a supportive faculty that utilises evidence based teaching practices to drive improvement and achievement.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be asked to demonstrate that they meet the criteria through the selection process which will include:

●                   Teaching an observed lesson to a full class of pupils;

●                   Meeting with a panel of our pupils for informal question and answer session;

●                   A written task analysing a Scheme of Work;

●                   Interview with a panel.

We look forward to receiving your application. Please contact Marianne O’ Shea, Deputy Headteacher moshea@hollyfield.kingston.sch.uk if you would like to come and visit or for an informal chat.

Job applications can only be made through the TES website. Please note we cannot accept CVs and our standard application form must be completed.

We would encourage early applications as we reserve the right to appoint before the closing date, should a suitable candidate be found. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. If you do not hear back from us within a week of the closing date, please assume you have not been shortlisted this time.

Interviews will take place w/c Monday 6 May.

The Governing and Trust Bodies are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our children and expect all staff to share this commitment.
