Job overview

Chulmleigh College is a high performing, ambitious secondary school well known for exemplary behaviour and conduct. It is a school where teachers focus upon high quality teaching and high standards. For the last six years, our GCSE results are consistently amongst the best in the South West.

From September, our ICT and Technology Departments will merge to create a new Department of Creative Technologies. The new structure recognises the National Curriculum for Computing and Design Technology and places an emphasis on the utilisation of IT hardware and software to create programmes or products. We aim to take advantage of this synergy and build in greater support and capacity.

The amalgamation of the two curriculum areas into one represents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic middle leader to develop the curriculum and extra-curricular offer into one that is contemporary and captures the imagination of our pupils.  There is also an opportunity to expand the curriculum offer at key stage four towards Engineering and Creative Media.  The College has an ambition to explore the use of Robotics and modern design software in both curriculum areas and establish industry links.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for Computing, DT and Food, be a very good teacher and possess strong leadership and management skills. You will inspire our pupils and provide the opportunity for them to work creatively gaining technical skills and a wide range of practical expertise.
