Brockenhurst College has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Curriculum - Service Industries to join their dedicated and enthusiastic team based in Brockenhurst. You will be working on a full-time basis, in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £35,700-£45,868 DOE.


We are a high-achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.


As our Head of Curriculum - Service Industries you will:


- Continuously improve the learning experience of and support for learners through effective leadership and management of the curriculum area, leading to outstanding progress and achievement


- Ensure the highest quality learning experience for all students and apprentices, aligned to a responsive curriculum that meets and anticipates current and future needs of our learning community.


- Delivery of a College strategic plan that anticipates, meets and takes advantage of change and opportunity, with the core purpose of helping learners make the most of their lives through learning.


The ideal Head of Curriculum - Service Industries will need:


- A degree or professional/vocational qualification and/or industrial/commercial training qualifications


- Teaching qualification.


- Ability to demonstrate a proven track record of effective and successful teaching


- Ability to demonstrate the ability to manage staff effectively in terms of; Motivation, Leadership &Performance


- Ability to demonstrate the ability to manage resources effectively


- Ability to demonstrate the ability to set and manage budgets


- Ability to demonstrate the ability to manage change effectively


- Ability to demonstrate a proven track record of curriculum/programme development


- Ability to make a contribution to teaching within the proposed area


- Knowledge and understanding of current developments in the relevant curriculum area


- Ability to identify resource requirements; Staffing, Physical resources & Financial


- Knowledge of funding mechanisms


- Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety requirements


- Knowledge and understanding of the national policy affecting further/higher education


- Knowledge of internal and external Inspection/audit arrangements


- Knowledge of Virtual Learning Environments and their applications
