Job overview

Full time, permanent

BOA Main Pay Scale (£26,195 to £42,430) + allowance of up to £7000

BOA Creative, Performing and Digital Arts Academy is one of the most successful state-funded, 14-19 academies in the country.  We specialise in creative, digital and performing arts.  The Academy opened in 2011 and has 1050 students on roll (350 at KS4 and 700 at Post-16).  Student results speak for themselves and are well above the national average.  Our intake is 100% selective, based on aptitude within the specialism rather than academic ability.  As a result, we are unique in our admissions.

Located in the centre of Birmingham and within the hub of the creative and digital industries in the West Midlands, we benefit from superb facilities for academic, vocational and extra-curricular activities.  We are part of the BOA Group, a small multi-academy trust of three academies and The Old Rep theatre.

We are seeking to appoint a new SENDCO/Head of Curriculum support within the Academy which has a reputation for outstanding results, high-quality performances, exceptional teaching and learning and vocational links.

The key purpose for this role is to ensure that all our students with SEND meet or exceed expectations.  You will also ensure that staff are able to support learners with SEND through high-quality teaching.  The ability to teach a core subject is an advantage. You will be ambitious and student-focused with a commitment to ensuring the best possible academic outcomes for our young people.

Closing date: 09h00 28th September 2021

Interviews to be held w/c 4th October 2021

The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced CRB check.
