The Governors of this Church of England academy are seeking to appoint a Head of Mathematics who will share the vision for a curriculum that links content, skills and values, and who also believes that each individual pupil deserves high-level pastoral care.

 We aim to recruit staff who:

·        are excited by their role and by the prospect of working with young people;

·        love the processes of learning and teaching and are keen to implement developments;

·        will subscribe to the ethos of the school and ‘go the extra mile’ in terms of time and commitment to get the very best from our pupils and colleagues;

·        seek to grow as highly effective practitioners and leaders.

The post holder will be responsible for planning and delivering high quality lessons and engaging pupils with activities that challenge and excite, teaching across KS2 and KS3, and across all ability ranges. The successful candidate will demonstrate consistently high standards of teaching and excellent classroom management, drawing on the great behaviour of our pupils. Additionally, the new Head of Mathematics’s approach will allow pupils to flourish by sharing with them a love for the subject matter, supporting them in responding to ‘deep questions’, and an inert desire to learn.
