We are recruiting for a dynamic, inspiring and motivated Upper Primary Teacher to join our team at Mount View International Primary School and Early Years Centre. We pride ourselves in our commitment to delivering a high-quality education and pastoral care. We have a highly skilled and dedicated team of teachers and teaching assistants. Mount View International Primary school has children from 18 months to 11 years old and comprises of a bespoke Early Years Centre, Lower Primary, Upper Primary, newly built swimming pool and yoga room, a school field and gym.

We are an International Primary School in Blantyre, Malawi, “The Warm Heart of Africa.” Our school is situated in picturesque location with views all around. Blantyre city is a bustling and diverse, full of markets, eateries, local artisan shops. Malawi is a beautiful country offering endless opportunities to travel and explore.

About the Role:

·        To plan and deliver the Cambridge International Curriculum in a dynamic and inspiring method

·        To oversee the planning and curriculum delivery of teachers in Years 4, 5 and 6

·        To carryout teacher observations and provide constructive feedback

·        To write detailed student assessments and reports and supervise the report writing of colleagues in Upper Primary

·        To plan and implement Upper Primary teacher training

·        To liaise with parents and forge positive and reciprocal relationships

·        To market the school

·        To be a positive role model to student, staff members and parents

Essential Qualifications:

·        Degree in Primary Education

·        QTS essential

·        Satisfactory Police/ DBS check

Desirable Qualifications:

·        Pediatric first aid

·        Prevent Training

·        Safeguarding training

Experience:

·        Minimum of two years teaching experience in a School

·        Leading and managing a team

·        Planning and delivering staff training

·        Planning a diverse and inclusive curriculum

·        Knowledge of the National Curriculum and/or Cambridge Curriculum

·        Supporting children with English as an additional language

·        Completing assessments and reports

·        Writing observations and detailing a child’s learning

·        Classroom management

·        Communicating with parents and families

·        Working as team

·        Working independently
