About the Role

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, innovative, and ambitious Head of Information Technology Education who will lead the school’s already outstanding IT Education programme to its next stage of evolution.  

The successful applicant will have excellent subject expertise, significant leadership experience or potential, and a demonstrable record of delivering challenging, innovative and successful curricular and co-curricular learning programmes.

The successful candidate will work closely with the IT Department to continually update the programs and to keep them on the cutting-edge of technology.   

About You

You are dedicated, passionate, and possess the following:

• A passion for the subject area, a keen interest in new developments in the subject area, and a broad network of contacts at the leading edge of subject development;

• Enthusiasm for sharing ideas and opportunities with students and staff and a facility for communicating the value of the subject area to others;

• A high degree of technical knowledge and a commitment to ongoing professional learning;

• Relevant experience in educational and other environments and a willingness to draw on that experience to enrich the School’s offering in the subject area;

• An understanding of the Australian Curriculum for Digital Technologies and how it can be implemented;

• Substantial experience in programming and software development, including coding skills in a range of current languages, interfacing with current and novel devices;

• Ability to perform successfully with responsibility for the management and development of other staff;

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to advise and liaise across all levels of an organisation and with parents and guardians;

• Capacity for strategic planning and thinking and well-developed analytical and research skills;

• Well-developed report writing and administrative skills, including a capacity to assist with the financial management of the department.
