Head of Department (Science)

Lincroft AcademyBedford

Head of Department (Science)

Full time appointment - Required from September 2021

We require a well-qualified, enthusiastic, experienced and inspiring teacher to lead our successful and ambitious Science Department.

The Science department at Lincroft benefits from high quality facilities and enthusiastic students, with a high take-up of Triple Science at Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will be creative, imaginative and an excellent team player with a proven record of excellence in the classroom. The ability to teach all three sciences up to GCSE level is essential, however a specialism in Biology would be advantageous. The Head of Department (Science) contributes to whole school leadership and is a member of the academy’s Extended Senior Leadership Team.

Lincroft Academy has an excellent reputation locally, and more widely across Bedfordshire and the neighbouring counties. The school is over-subscribed and continues to grow, with demand for places at an all-time high; the future is also exciting as we look to join a highly successful Multi Academy Trust before the start of the next academic year.

The successful candidate will join a school that values and develops all staff, with a commitment to CPD and opportunities to contribute to extra-curricular activities in other areas of interest. We encourage applications from inspirational and ambitious candidates who share our passion to ensure that every child has the support they need to fulfil their potential and successfully progress to the next stage of their education.

We can offer:

• the opportunity to join a highly successful and ambitious school;

• a stimulating and creative working environment where extracurricular activities flourish;

• an exceptional CPD provision for all staff, working in collaboration and sharing best practice.

Closing date: Friday 14 May 2021, at 8.00 am – interviews in the week commencing 17 May 2021

Lincroft Academy reserves the right to either extend or reduce the vacancy window to that advertised depending on volume of applications received. We would therefore recommend early return of completed application forms to avoid disappointment.
