High Close School is a flourishing residential and day special school catering for up to 94 young people with a complex range of Social , Emotional and Mental Health needs. Ofsted has judged education to be ‘Good' (Feb 2018) and we are now working towards becoming outstanding. We are seeking a talented and inspirational teacher with high expectations of learning and behaviour and a belief in the capacity of every child to achieve. This is an exciting opportunity for a well-motivated teacher who is:
- An excellent classroom practitioner.
- Is a current Middle Leader or is ready for the challenge of Middle Leadership.
- Creative in the ways they work with young people and other teachers.
- Calm and patient even in difficult situations.
- Able to build positive relationships at all levels, wanting to make a difference to the lives of young people.
You will have a sound knowledge and background in DT/FT and creative ways to deliver the new curriculum. This is a real opportunity to lead this important subject and support colleagues in their teaching of DT/FT. The role will also offer opportunity for contribution to a varied and vibrant enrichment programme.

High Close School is a weekly boarding residential and day special school catering for young people with a complex range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
We cater for young people in KS2, KS3 and KS4. We offer a traditional school experience equivalent to mainstream with outcomes that includes recognised qualifications at the end of KS4. We do this in small classes with high levels of pastoral care and support.
